Remodex — Terms of Use
Last updated: March 25, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Remodex mobile application ("App"), developed and published by Emanuele Di Pietro ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of the App
Remodex is an iOS companion app for controlling a Codex runtime on your Mac. The App can connect to your Mac directly or through a developer-operated hosted relay. Core features include real-time chat, git actions, photo attachments, voice transcription, pairing, trusted reconnect, and subscription-gated functionality.
Most coding, repository, and workspace operations run on your paired Mac, not on our hosted relay.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, to use the App.
3. Pairing and Security
The App does not require a Remodex user account. Instead, it pairs with your Mac through a QR code flow and secure cryptographic session setup. You are responsible for keeping your paired devices secure and for activity performed through your paired environment.
4. Pro Subscription
4.1 Subscription Features
The App offers an optional Pro subscription. Pro may include features such as:
- faster service tiers or related runtime defaults
- git actions from iPhone
- voice transcription
- subagents and slash-command workflows
- access to developer-operated hosted relay/connectivity features
Feature availability can vary based on the connected runtime, platform limitations, and your current build/configuration.
4.2 Billing
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period.
- Renewal is charged by Apple within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
4.3 Trials and Refunds
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store rules.
5. Developer-Operated Services
To provide the App Store experience, Remodex may operate hosted services such as:
- a relay that routes traffic between your iPhone and paired Mac
- a trusted reconnect endpoint
These services are part of the Remodex product offering. They do not run Codex for you and do not replace your paired Mac runtime.
6. Third-Party Services
The App also relies on third-party services, including:
- Apple for App Store billing, subscriptions, and platform services
- RevenueCat for subscription/entitlement handling
- OpenAI / ChatGPT for voice transcription when you use voice mode
Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for unlawful purposes
- interfere with or abuse the App, bridge, relay, or connected runtime
- transmit malware, harmful payloads, or abusive traffic
- attempt to bypass security, entitlement, or pairing protections
- use the App to infringe the rights of others
8. Open Source
Remodex includes open-source code and is published in public source form. Source-code use is governed by the applicable repository license. These Terms apply to the distributed mobile application and any related services we operate for it.
9. Intellectual Property
The Remodex name, branding, and app presentation are owned by the Developer, except for third-party marks belonging to their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our branding beyond normal use of the App.
10. Availability and Changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features of the App, hosted relay, pricing, or subscription offerings at any time. We may also update these Terms, and your continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP AND ANY RELATED SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP, HOSTED RELAY, OR YOUR CONNECTED RUNTIME WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP OR RELATED SERVICES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP OR RELATED SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP'S SUBSCRIPTIONS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
13. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the App's hosted services, or your use of the App, if needed to protect users, infrastructure, legal compliance, or service integrity.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Italy, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
15. Apple App Store Terms
If you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and the Developer only, and not with Apple.
- The license granted to you for the App is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Usage Rules.
- Apple also publishes a standard end-user license framework for App Store apps: Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA).
- The Developer, not Apple, is responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, under its applicable policies. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- The Developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
- The Developer, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party intellectual property infringement claim relating to the App.
- You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you as applicable.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
